"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

Uh huh. Honestly? I don't know how I feel about this book. I was so excited to read it, and after reading Pure - which was by the way pure awesomeness - I kind of thought this one will be even better. But it didn't feel that way. Still very good, but not the incredible thing I was hoping for it to be.

Alex. Well, she was a badass in this book too :P She was pretty frightened about all this Awakening stuff - and I really liked that. It made her look more human and it was fairly easy to connect with her.

Love interest. I won't say a word, because I have a feeling I would be spoiling things. I'll just say "finally, it was about time!" :)

The writing was awesome like always. It's just that.. I have a feeling like (apart from the ending) nothing really happened in this book. I was expecting way more action. And like I said, apart from the ending, there really wasn't any action at all. But, it was still an enjoyable read!

So, if you're a fan of the Covenant serie, you'll definitely want to read Deity! The romance in it is fabulous and the characters are as awesome and great as always! ;)
"You need to face your fears, Alex."
I squinted, but saw nothing. "I thought you said I was fearless."
"You usually are." Suddenly, he was in front of me and his scent was driving me to distraction. "Which is why being scared now is so hard for you. Being afraid isn't a weakness, Alex. It's only a sign of something you must overcome."

"Which part of crazy are you thinking about?" I watched him over the rim of my mug, loving the way he smiled in response to the stupid things that came out of my mouth. That had to be true love, I decided.
